Rare Bristols, including two Zagato-bodied models valued at £750,000, will be displayed at Aerospace Bristol in celebration of the city’s engineering heritage on 28 March.
The display forms part of the Bristol Owner’s Heritage Trust (BOHT) Lecture Day, which brings 18 Bristol cars back to Filton – the very place where they were engineered and built.
The cars will be displayed across the museum’s outdoor apron and beneath the supersonic Concorde in Hangar 16R, home to the Rolls-Royce Aerospace Collection.
‘Filton has been at the heart of Bristol’s engineering story for more than a century and this weekend is a brilliant way to see that legacy up close,’ said Aerospace Bristol CEO Sally Cordwell. ‘To have these incredibly rare Bristol cars return to the place they were built – and displayed alongside Concorde – is something special.’
The event is set to draw Bristol owners and enthusiasts from across the country, keen to hear stories about the company’s legacy. Visitors will also have the opportunity to peruse the Bristol Car Company archive housed at the museum.
Celebrations of the city’s motoring heritage continue on Sunday 29 March with Vintage Bus Day. Organised in partnership with the Bristol Vintage Bus Group, the event offers visitors the chance to board historic Bristol buses for free rides around the local area.
For those unable to attend this weekend, the fleet of cars will return for the museum’s Mach 2 Motor Show, held across Father’s Day weekend on 20-21 June.
